MapR sandbox without DNS resolution

Dear colleagues,

I would like to know where or how is the "nameserver 8.8.8.8" imposed in the /etc/resolv.conf file inside the sandbox.

I set up the "NAT" connection in vmware - for experimentation purposes. The dhclient gets the correct configuration from the vmware internal DHCP service / proxy. But later during the startup sequence the resolv.conf gets overwritten by some other script / service that removes the correct internal DNS resolution IP address (of the vmware DHCP / proxy) and replaces it with the above  "nameserver 8.8.8.8". As a result the DNS resolution is lost but at least the correct IP remains assigned to the sandbox. I can ping any server on the internet using its IP address.

I went through all sysconfig scripts and all startup sequences in /etc/rc3.d/ but I fail to pinpoint where this "8.8.8.8" values comes from.

Could anyone help me find out?

Thank you all!
