Compression: compressed size of all files in a folder

Question asked by rhinomike on May 15, 2015

Is there any easy way to get the size on disk of all the files on a particular folder?

I know I can use `hadoop mfs -lss /path/to/folder` to get the individual files but it only provides the size of each individual file.

I could also convert the folder into a volume and use the MCS Volumes tab to check the `Vol Size`

Is there any other way other than scripting a wrapper around `hadoop mfs -lss`?
