Setting classpath for MapReduce jobs

Question asked by rthimmana on Jan 7, 2015
Using MapReduce1

Set the classpath that we need as follows

Got the output by running hadoop1 classpath

Added the jars we needed to this output and exported it to CLASSPATH

So, export CLASSPATH=list of jars needed by the application:{OUTPUT OF hadoop1 classpath}

Submitted the map-reduce job as

hadoop jar ...

hadoop1 jar ....

No luck. What are we missing? Don't need YARN

The jar should take the CLASSPATH that is set

Printing the CLASSPATH using the following code

  String classpath = System.getProperty("java.class.path");

  String[] classpathEntries = classpath.split(File.pathSeparator);
  for (String entry:classpathEntries) {
   System.out.println(entry);
  }
