Brand new MapR Cluster: Java 7 or Java 8?

I'm standing up a new MapR cluster, running the Community Edition (for the moment).

We're planning to run:

 - Apache Spark in Standalone Mode (no YARN)
 - MapR-DB with the HBase Thrift Server
 - Apache Pig
 - MapReduce v2 (YARN)

As of today, is Java 8 (1.8) supported for all these uses?  From [the documentation][1], it would seem Java 7 (1.7) is preferred for Spark in Standalone Mode, but Java 8 (1.8) is supported for YARN?
