In the mapr installation process for redhat it gives me the option to select control nodes.  Since I wanted to install it as a single node cluster I entered the current nodes (node on which I am working) fully qualified domain name.  I then entered my user account user/pass (which has sudo) for ssh

Then the installer tried to install via ssh to the control node (whcih is just the current node) I get
"Installing Extra Package Repositories If Needed for CentOS/RedHat" You need to be root to perform this command.

Unfortunately I don't have root access but only sudo.  If its the same box can't I skip this control node install over ssh step?

Do i need to select a Control Node
