Install dev cluster with less than 4 GB RAM/node

I'm trying to install a development MapR M3 cluster on Vbox VMs. I was able to install the control node by giving its VM 4GB. But I don't have enough RAM to allocate 4GB to each data node. The Box sandbox is very cool but won't suffice in my case.

Is it possible to install MapR on data nodes with 2GB RAM just for testing? I tried the --skip-checks flag. The install still fails.

What is the minimum number of data nodes I can have? Can I have a cluster with one control node and one data node?

Thank you,
