First installation - M3 + 2 or more nodes

Question asked by ac4 on Dec 6, 2013
Hello guys,

I successfully installed the first node with:
$: maprcli service list

name         state  logpath                              displayname
fileserver   0      /opt/mapr/logs/mfs.log               FileServer
nfs          0      /opt/mapr/logs/nfsserver.log         NFS Gateway
webserver    0      /opt/mapr/logs/adminuiapp.log        Webserver
cldb         0      /opt/mapr/logs/cldb.log              CLDB
tasktracker  0      /opt/mapr/hadoop/hadoop-0.20.2/logs  TaskTracker
jobtracker   0      /opt/mapr/hadoop/hadoop-0.20.2/logs  JobTracker
hoststats    0      /opt/mapr/logs/hoststats.log         HostStats

and all seems to work except TaskTracker and JobTracker (both in standby).

I use this command to configure the first node:
    ./configure.sh -C <IPfirstNode> -Z <IPfirstNode> -d localhost -du <user> -dp <password> --create-user -u mapr -U 5000 -g mapr -G 5000

Now I want to add the second node to share ram+hdd+cpu, so:

1) configure apt repository

2) install ONLY mapr-fileserver and mapr-tasktracker

3) run `./configure.sh -c -C <IPfirstNode> -Z <IPfirstNode> --create-user -u mapr -U 5000 -g mapr -G 5000`

4) create a maprdisk using a file (dd if=/dev/zero of=/root/storagefile bs=1G count=20) and use disksetup to configure it.

5) add to warden.conf:
    services=tasktracker:all;

6) start warden with "service mapr-warden start".

is it correct? Thank you, best regards :)
