maprcli not respecting dfs.umaskmode

I've setup maprfs configuration to use dfs.umaskmode = 002 (in /opt/mapr/hadoop/hadoop-<version>/conf/core-site.xml).  It works fine through hadoop command line, i.e. hadoop fs -put, and through nfs client.  However, maprcli is not respecting it.  This presents a problem when I add a new volume in the MapR Control System, and mount a path.  The path gets created, but with a different mask, e.g. default mask of 022.  So the workaround I have is to run a chmod via command line after I add a volume, e.g. hadoop fs -chmod 775.

Is this an expected behavior?

Thanks, Edward
