**Hive server is running:**
<pre>
[root@redhat2 hive-0.9.0]# **bin/hive --service hiveserver &**
[1] 22029
[root@redhat2 hive-0.9.0]# cat: /opt/mapr/hbase/hbaseversion: No such file or directory
Starting Hive Thrift Server
[root@redhat2 hive-0.9.0]#
</pre>
**Hive server confirmed to be running:**
<pre>
[root@redhat2 hive-0.9.0]# **netstat -nl | grep 10000**
tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:10000               0.0.0.0:*                   LISTEN
</pre>
**But when trying to create a table, it errors out:**
<pre>
[root@redhat2 hive-0.9.0]# bin/hive
cat: /opt/mapr/hbase/hbaseversion: No such file or directory
