Running M3 / v2.1.1

Just completely rebuilt O/S, MapR install on RedHat system. All goes fine, but node quickly goes orange
with two alerts:
1/ Cannot determine if service: TaskTracker is running...
2/ Metrics path does not exist....

A look at hadoop-mapr-tasktracker-hd3.sec.xxx.local.log shows:
<code>
2013-03-13 14:49:57,340 ERROR org.apache.hadoop.mapred.TaskTracker: Failed to create and mount local mapreduce volume at /var/mapr/local/hd3.sec.xxx.local/mapred/. Please see logs at /opt/mapr//logs/createTTVolume.log
2013-03-13 14:49:57,340 ERROR org.apache.hadoop.mapred.TaskTracker: Command ran /opt/mapr//server/createTTVolume.sh hd3.sec.xxx.local /var/mapr/local/hd3.sec.xxx.local/mapred/ /var/mapr/local/hd3.sec.xxx.local/mapred/taskTracker/
</code>

and then TaskTracker shuts down.

I have tried manually deleting the /var/mapr/local directory as the logs says "Checking for local volume. If volume is not present command will create and mount it." but it still fails.

How can I get around this?

Thanks
