MapR Forum,

**Short Version:**
Has anyone had success using a newer version of Hadoop with MapR (newer than the 0.20.2 that is installed by MapR packages)?

**Long Version:**
The latest MapR distribution seems to be based on Hadoop 0.20.2 (released in 2010).  This version is 2 years old and lacks important features I require that have been available for some time already in modern releases 0.23, 1.0, 2.0, (the nature of the missing features is a topic of another long discussion ;-).

My question is, has anyone had success running a current version of Hadoop in place of Hadoop 0.20.2 on a node installed from the current MapR distributed packages?  Basically, I would like to leverage the great mapr features like the web ui and MaprFS with a better version of Hadoop (Hadoop 1.0 or Hadoop 2.0).
