Unable to get volume list with either gui or command line

I have a mapr cluster (MapR Build Version: 1.2.3.12961.GA) that has been exhibiting some odd behavior recently.
Namely I can't see anything when I try to get a volume listing (either with the gui or at the command line).

hadoop fs -ls / shows that all my data is still available.

**# maprcli volume list**

  **#**

Looking in /opt/mapr/logs/maprcli-root-0.log I see:

2012-09-18 11:28:29,986 INFO  com.mapr.cliframework.driver.CLIMainDriver [main]: [volume, list]

I suspect that it is related to a user I recently removed from the system. Note the strange Principal entry below:

**# maprcli acl show -cluster makomapr -type cluster -output long**

    Principal        Allowed actions
User root        [Login access, Start/stop services in the cluster, Create volumes, Administrator, Full control]
Uid 16777875     [Login access, Start/stop services in the cluster, Create volumes, Administrator, Full control]
User john.doe    [Login access, Start/stop services in the cluster, Create volumes, Administrator, Full control]

How can I get rid of the "Uid" entry?
