map tasks are not started, status pending

After a single node (ubuntu 12.04 lts) installation of MapR, all started jobs hang at "map 0%, reduce 0%" (tried with the hadoop examples (wordcount and grepsort) and some own code). As I can see in the webadmin, all services are up and running so far.

As one can read often, there may be an issue with the DNS; but node-east1b-101 as well as node-east1b-101.cluster.int.domain.com resolve correctly to 10.0.2.101, not any local ip. The DNS test from the documentation results in:

    $ getent hosts `hostname`
    10.0.2.101      node-east1b-101.cluster.int.domain.com node-east1b-101
    $ hostname -f
    node-east1b-101.cluster.int.domain.com

and I also got

    $ ping node-east1b-101.cluster.int.domain.com
    PING node-east1b-101.cluster.int.domain.com (10.0.2.101) 56(84) bytes of data.
    ...
    $ ping node-east1b-101
    PING node-east1b-101.cluster.int.domain.com (10.0.2.101) 56(84) bytes of data.
    ...

So I think that's okay. The logs are available at:

 - tasktracker [http://nopaste.info/e440afe043.html][2],
 - warden.log [http://nopaste.info/3d9fd7b2f8.html][3].

I guess this problem shouldn't be that hard to solve, but as I'm a newbie to MR and hadoop, this requires some help ... so ... any ideas about that?
