Topology full despite available disk space

Despite having only a 21% cluster-wide disk utilization, we are seeing several "Topology full" alarms. For example (copied from web ui):

Mount Path: /var/mapr/local/-some-private-hostname-/logs

Topology: /default-rack/-some-private-hostname-

Alarm: "Topology Full"  "Disk usage full in the topology of the volume"

Is it possible to resize the volume and/or topology? We are not using quotas. Is there anything else, besides physical disk usage, which would limit how much data we can put into a volume?

We are seeing similar issues with our /hbase volume, despite having plenty of available disk space.
