Can we replace /tmp by other mountpoint/disk ?
Non-prod development poc systems have /tmp space taken from ram memory.Unix telling me to use other mointpoint?
Security does not like that we have to remove noexec on /tmp
Could you please provide a bit more detail?
Not sure of the context of the question.
What are you mounting in /tmp?
Ideally, there would be one place you could specify an environment variable like "OS_TMP_DIR=/tmp" and then change it to whatever you want and it would take affect across all the possible software packages you've installed. Unfortunately, no such setting exists. A variety of components use /tmp and the settings required to switch from that differ between them. Also, setting noexec will cause problems for some software, such as YARN, as the tmp space is used to unpack content that needs to be distributed across nodes dynamically and loaded into memory for execution.
