Solution is required to pull data from oracle DB to MapR DB.
Recommend to check out GoldenGate CDC MapR Streams.docx.
Are you looking at batch uploads and/or CDC from Oracle?
You can use one of our partners StreamSets SDC for this, which will allow a lot of options fro either batch or CDC. Since SDC itself is open source, it can be a good starting point.
If you are only looking at batch loads, you may want to look at Oracle export the Oracle data as JSON to MapR-FS using NFS or other connectivity to MapR-FS. Then you can use the MapR importJSON utility to load the JSON data to MapR-DB JSON. This uses tools available on both platforms, but may require a bit more work on your side. Especially watch the id for the importJSON as it requires a string type for id, and also unique id to load.
Wow... pushing product? ;-)
Look, its pretty simple and complex at the same time.
In terms of mechanics... you'll need GoldenGate if you want to have near real time consistency.
You will also have to have a dump of the existing data within the database and then drop the data set on to the cluster and then load the file.
The complex part... you need to move away from Relational modeling to a hierarchical or record based model.
Here, you also have to deal with some logistics and depending on how complex your model... you will have to do some work.
Retrieving data ...
