Recommended Partitioning for Ubuntu single disk MapR installation?

Hi MapR,

I want to install MapR on a SINGLE DISK installation of Ubuntu 16.04.

I have seen multiple threads , i.e., here and here, where partitioning is a major problem with the MapR installer.  In other words, if:

a) the Linux partitioning is not set up to use /dev/sda1 as the cluster storage,

a) another unformatted disk is not added for the installer to reference during the installation

then the installer fails.  I know because I've experienced this myself when trying to install to install the MapR Converged Community Edition on an Ubuntu Installation where /dev/sda1 is set up as the OS partition to no avail.

Please advise - what is the recommended partitioning scheme for a fresh SINGLE DISK Ubuntu installation in order to ensure a successful MapR Converged Community Edition installation.
