Looking at the marketing materials (SAS: Realize Your Big Data Aspirations with MapR and SAS | MapR) (https://www.sas.com/content/dam/SAS/en_us/doc/whitepaper1/bringing-power-of-sas-to-hadoop-105776.pdf ) for mapr+SAS integration. I am curious about how exactly SAS would interact with mapr, what a typical workflow would look like when running SAS over mapr, and if SAS would be able to run any SAS job on hadoop or only certain jobs optimized to run in such a way. Thanks.
Full disclosure: We have users who would like to run SAS jobs (the exact nature of which I have no knowledge of yet) in a higher performance computing environment than their local computers (which access data via mapr mount) and we are currently looking into whether they would be able to leverage our mapr-hadoop cluster to achieve that. I have no experience with SAS.
