The question title says it all.
Yes, MapR-FS supports the creation and use of named pipes. This can be done using the NFS and FUSE interfaces with standard Linux tools. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
So then the next question... how does ACES interact with the named pipes?
Wow, that could be powerful...hmm you got me thinking Michael
Yeah... something to talk about offline. ;-)
Barring any unforeseen complications ACEs should work with named pipes like any other file on MapR-FS. A simple test of setting readfile or writefile ACEs on a named pipe produces the expected behavior but I suspect you are imagining a more complex setup
If you have a particular scenario in mind that you'd like me to dig into further let me know the details and I'm happy to do so and report back on the results. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
