After performing openJDK update from java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.141-1.b16.el7_3.x86_64 to java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.144-0.b01.el7_4.x86_64, drillbits refused to start with this error:

/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.141-1.b16.el7_3.x86_64/jre’: No such file or directory
ERROR: Java not found at JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.141-1.b16.el7_3.x86_64/jre.

and later on:

2017-09-28 15:39:42,746 ERROR com.mapr.warden.service.baseservice.Service$ServiceRun run [drill-bits_monitor]: Error while running command: [/opt/mapr/drill/drill-1.10.0/bin/drillbit.sh, start]
2017-09-28 15:39:42,747 ERROR com.mapr.warden.service.baseservice.Service$ServiceRun run [drill-bits_monitor]: ERROR: Java 1.7 or later is required to run Apache Drill.

I tried forcing export JAVA_HOME to new updated java path on drill-env.sh, it didn;t seems to have any effect. for some reason Drill kept trying the old java path.

OS is CentOS 7, I've alternatives to java path: alternatives --config java

it correctly listed to new java path.

How to correct this issues?
