MapR 5.1.0 Installer Pre-Req Check for Disk Fails

Why do I get error "INFO unknown_disks: ['/dev/sda3']" when the MapR Installer attempts the pre-requisites checking on my selected disk?

 

I want to install MapR Community Ed. 5.1.0 on RHEL 6.4. I'm telling the MapR Installer to configure an unformatted, unmounted disk volume at /dev/sda3:
