Hello

How can I configure mapr-client installed on my Windows workstation to connect to the MapR Sandbox environment (using Virtualbox) ?

What I do is:

  1. Start the MapE Sandbox in a Virtualbox running on my Windows workstation.
  2. Set JAVA_HOME and make sure it does not contain spaces.

        C:\opt\mapr\server>echo %JAVA_HOME%
        C:\jdk1.8.0_121

  3. set MAPR_HOME and make sure, it does not contain spaces.
    C:\opt\mapr\server>echo %MAPR_HOME%
    C:\opt\mapr
  4. On my workstation run the configure script as follows:
    configure.bat -N demo.mapr.com -c -C 127.0.0.1:7222
  5. Then I start my custom Java Application that is trying to connect to MapR via MapR Client and it fails with

  7. After a second the Java Virtual Machine also crashes with Assertion failed!

Assertion failed!

For information on how your program can cause an assertion

failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts

(Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must be enabled)

I am not really sure where to start troubleshooting?

How to test connectivity without using my own java program?

Is there anywhere already a document describing how to connect MapR Client to MapR cluster in Sandbox env?

Please advise.

Best Regards

Yordan
