Is it ok to use a 120 GB ssd for all this partitions? since /opt needs 128GB and /tmp needs 10GB it shows warning on the installation part. But what are the consequences of this if we continue.
PS: OS filesystem also sits on this 120 GB
The /tmp directory is used by different cluster services (such as Resource Manager, Node Manager) for temporary storage of files. The /opt directory is used to collect things like log files and core files. As far as consequences - if /tmp gets too full, services or jobs may fail. If /opt is too full, the system may not be able to capture a core file (which can limit troubleshooting), or some log files may be lost.
Nothing catastrophic - but it's good to have enough space in these directories. The space needs will definitely vary based on how much you're running on the cluster and what else is going on. So you can run with less than the recommended, just keep an eye on things.
