Im mounting the cluster through NFS in windows client but surprisingly I cant access this volume .
I resolve this by doing chmod 777 on volume /vm3 using the mapr user. But I was wondering because on the Whole Volume ACE's it is set as p which is public. It should be accessible because of ACE's. ACE>POSIX right?.
How exactly are you trying to access it - like what user, etc.? And please share the relevant description of the errors you're seeing at your end.
Im accessing it through another user.
How is the user level authentication integrator in your environment - like LDAP, AD, etc.?If mutually exclusive users, i.e., no overlap between the users on the cluster and the Windows envorionment, then does user that's trying to access the NFS via Windows have an equivalent representation with the same UID on the cluster?
Just some of the areas I can think of taking a look at while troubleshooting issues like this.
No overlap in between, I have set the AnonymousGid and AnonymousUid on my windows VM client to test the nfs mounting.
By that were you referring to the fact that you are going to test it in that fashion or that you have already tested it and it still fails after which you'd to resort to chmod 777?
Hi I posted a more detailed problem please kindly see it here Mounting MapR-FS via NFS on Windows client
