Gateway log file permission issue

We have installed MapR Gateway to one of our lab cluster nodes. The log files (gatewayinit.log and gateway.log) that it creates are created with owner (mapr id) read-write only permission (600). As the gateway runs under mapr id, it is not possible for our users to check the log for troubleshooting. We changed the permission to 644 to grant read-only access, but it keeps overwriting the permission to 600 every time there is an activity. How can we fix this permanently?
