Plans to update the MapR Streams API with 0.10 changes are underway. Here’s some info on what’s changed between the 0.9 API and the 0.10 API:
See the MapR user documentation for info about Streams and Spark integration (http://maprdocs.mapr.com/home/Spark/Spark_IntegrateMapRStreams.html).
Please, do you have any timeline on when MapR streams will be updated with Apache Kafka 0.10 API?
In particular, the addition of Kafka Streams as a lightweight Java stream processing library will be a major differentiator of the MapR converged platform! In fact, MapR Streams already supports:
- storing of event streams through MapR streams which is compatible with Kafka API
- getting event streams in and out of MapR streams with Kafka Connect with simple configuration of existing connectors to many data systems
- and with support to Kafka 0.10 API, processing event streams with Kafka Streams without the need for many use cases of additional framework/cluster such as Spark Streaming, Apache Storm or Apache Flink.
