How to grant read/write access to another user in a shared MapR environment?

Hi MapR Team,

My company has one big MapR Cluster, with many teams who each get their own username/account and volume. We cannot read or write to other usernames/volumes by default.

I have a use case where I need to share data with another team. I want to either grant them read access on one of my subdirectories, or for them to grant me write access on one of theirs.

For example, my username is foo and my volume is /app/fooVolume. I have a hive a directory located at /app/fooVolume/to_share/, within which I have M7 tables, hive tables, and HDFS tables. I want to grant user bar access to everything within the /app/fooVolume/to_share/ subdirectory.

How do I go about accomplishing this?

Best regards,

Matthew Moisen
