Is there any difference in performance when we use mkdir option in maprfs rather than creation of volume ?
Mkdir is the allocation of one 8KB inode in an existing volume. Volume creation is a two part step. Get CLDB to allocation new containers for the new volume on nodes, A lightweight operation and then mount this volume in the DFS.
In my experience there can be a 1-2 second delay on volume creation and mount. mkdir would be as fast as your system can go.
