Hi,

We are working on MapR with Tableau for Big-data solution, I have following doubts

1. We created tables in MapR-DB, but we cant query with Tableau as MapR-DB wont support ANSI SQL. So we are planing to create views by using CAST and CONVERT_FROM function and then use those views by Tableau for visualization. My question is how views will work in MapR and will views create any performance issues ?

2. We tried the same using Hbase, we are planing to create views by using CAST and CONVERT_FROM function and then use those views by Tableau for visualization. My question is how views will work in MapR and will views create any performance issues.

3. I know we can use Hive and connect directly with BI, but hive is very slow with huge data. If my thinking is wrong please provide the explanation.

Please give the solution for above, If we are going in wrong direction please provide us the right/proper solution, as we are determined to use MapR

Thanks,

Uday
