I am trying to create a sqoop transfer configured in HUE to extract data from a db2 database and load to Hive. I created the link for db2 and was able to create a file . But how do I create a link for my Hive table and load to hive ?
I believe the Sqoop version you are using is Sqoop2. This is the version that is compatible with Hue.
Sqoop2 doesn't have all the features of Sqoop and is not recommended for production use as per the official documentation. In Sqoop2, you cannot directly transfer data from a RDBMS to Hive. You will have to import from RDBMS to HDFS and then load from HDFS into Hive using '"LOAD DATA" in Hive.
Another option is to uninstall Sqoop2 and install Sqoop wherein you can directly load data from RDBMS to Hive. You will not be able to use the Sqoop UI in Hue but you would be able to launch a sqoop job via Oozie.
Let me know how it goes.
