Cannot change permissions on a mapr-db table created from java application

I cannot change permissions on a mapr-db table created from java application.

I created a JSON table using the MapRDB class within a java application. The table gets created with user and owner set to 1000. I want to see all the entries by using mapr dbshell, but whenever I do a mapr dbshell find, it returns with 0 documents.

I know there are documents in the table because MCS and inside my Java application show them. I tried to change the permissions of the table from MC while logged in as root, but it says permission denied.

How can I successfully view the documents in the table using marp dbshell?

thanks
