im newbie and i got problem to install mapr in virtualbox ....when i try to install script it asks mapr password and i dont know the password
It looks like you're using the MapR Sandbox. You do not need to install MapR in that case - the sandbox already has MapR installed.
It is asking for your "sudo" password for your system.
So how to get sudo password
Your right I installed sandbox for virtualbox ....so do I have to start lab practice ?
Are you taking one of the on-demand courses? If you are taking ADM 2000 (Cluster Administration), there are some labs you can't complete (like, the Install lab - since MapR is already installed). With ADM 2000, I would probably start the labs at Lesson 4. Even with the later labs, though, you need to be aware that the lab guide is written for a 3-node cluster and the sandbox is a single-node cluster. So there will be some of the later labs that also will not run on the sandbox.
If you are taking a DEV or DA course, you should be able to do all of the labs using the sandbox.
Thank you madam for reply
I'm doing dv301 so I would like to knowif its OK to start lab with sandbox
Normally I would say yes. But we recently took down the DEV 301 lab guide for updates. It was written for an earlier version of Hadoop than the sandbox is running. We will make an announcement in the community when it is has been updated and is re-posted.
