Can MapR Streams messages be stored infinitely?

I have just started looking at MapR Streams. I have below questions/assumptions. Please clarify

1. I assume the messages are stored in MapR FS and can be stored in there for unlimited amount of time, unlike kafka where it stays only for configured amount of time. Is this correct.

2. The consumer should be able to go back to any point in the stream. Is this assumption correct

3. In case of failure ,the consumer can automatically resume from the last processed key. Is this correct.
