Cannot Install Actian Vortex On MapR 4.0.1

There are several issues when I try to install Actian Vortex on MapR 4.0.1 Community Free edition. The major error is as follows:

"Could not detect Hadoop, is "HDFS" running. Installation is currently only supported on an active Hadoop "datanode".

Looking into the installation scripts following are a few sections of it:

18 dnps="ps -eaf | grep proc_datanode | grep -v grep | tail -1"

19 java_home=`eval $dnps | \

20                 awk 'BEGIN { i = 1 }; \

21                     { while(i < NF ) { \

22                         if ($i ~ /^\/.*\/bin\/java/ ) { \

23                             split($i, a,"/bin"); \

24                             print a[1] ; \

25                             break} \

26                             i++ } \

27                     }'`

28 dohdfs=false

29 domapr=false

30 dompi=true

31 hdfs_admin=`eval $dnps | awk '{print $1}'`

32 hadoop_home=`eval $dnps | \

33                 awk 'BEGIN { i = 1 }; \

34                     { while(i < NF ) { \

35                         if ($i ~ /^-Dhadoop.home.dir=.*/ ) { \

36                             split($i, a,"="); \

37                             print a[2] ; \

38                             break} \

39                             i++ } \

40                     }'`

41 maprmnt=`mount | grep nfs | grep "on /mapr " | cut -d" " -f 3`

53 if [ -d "${hadoop_home}" ] ; then

54     dohdfs=true

55 elif [ -d "$maprmnt" ] ; then

56     domapr=true

57 else

58     cat << EOF

59 ERROR:

60 Could not detect Hadoop, is "HDFS" running

(1)- The lines that I have put in bold I think are problematic. On line 18 the grep would not result into anything.

[root@mapr-virtual-machine bin]# ps -eaf | grep proc_datanode | grep -v grep | tail -1

[root@mapr-virtual-machine bin]#

this will cause the environment variables to be empty. The problem is with the grep proc_datanode ?

(2)- The other problem is with line 41:

[root@mapr-virtual-machine bin]# maprmnt=`mount | grep nfs | grep "on /mapr " | cut -d" " -f 3`

[root@mapr-virtual-machine bin]#

this will again cause domapr variable to false and the installation to not proceed.

performing the following command it seems that nfs is not running.

[root@mapr-virtual-machine bin]# service nfs status

rpc.svcgssd is stopped

rpc.mountd is stopped

nfsd is stopped

Questions )

1- In regards to the first error can the "proc_datanode" be replaced by some other string, like "resourcemanager", which is a service they want on the node?

2- I am not sure if NFS can be used in the community edition ? this said does Vortex install need an enterprise edition?

Thanks,

Outcomes
