We recently started installing MapR on a small cluster for our proof-of-concept. We see that running the initial installation scripts modified the root user's crontab, modified /etc/sudoers. Why can MapR not be installed as the mapr user? It is a security risk to have it modify the crontab or sudoers file without warning. It is also against some of the Network Security policies. What type of permissions would mapr user need to run the installation?
