Over the week of January 22-26, 2018, we are hosting "Ask Us Anything," focused on MapR 6.0's new capabilities. MapR 6.0's new features were announced and introduced at the end of Nov. (Apache Drill 1.11 on MapR 6.0: Release Highlights, Introducing the New MapR Control System in MapR 6.0, Announcing: MapR Data Science Refinery).  This is the opportunity for you to ask all your questions about the new capabilities, and we're here to answer them.

Neeraja Rentachintala

Biography

Neeraja Rentachintala is Senior Director of Product Management for MapR, where she is responsible for the product strategy, roadmap, and requirements of all MapR database and analytics initiatives. Prior to MapR, Neeraja held numerous product management and engineering roles at Informatica, Microsoft, Oracle and Expedia, and most recently was the principal product manager for Informatica Data Services/Data Virtualization. Neeraja received a BS in Electronics and Communications from the National Institute of Technology in India and a certification in software product management from the University of Washington.

Mitesh Shah

Biography

Mitesh Shah is Senior Technologist at MapR, responsible for security and data governance strategy. Prior to MapR, Mitesh held several positions in enterprise security at organizations including the Federal Reserve and Salesforce.com. Mitesh has a degree in Computer Science from Cornell, and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Bill ODonnell

Biography

Bill O’Donnell is Strategic Security Architect for MapR, responsible for defining MapR Security and Data Governance user cases, innovated capability, architecture and ensuring compliancy with many security standards.  Prior to MapR, Bill was Chief Middleware Security Architect/Compliance Officer at IBM.

 Sargon Benjamin

Biography

Sargon Benjamin is Senior Manager, Software Quality Assurance Engineering for MapR, specializing in MCS. Prior to MapR, Sargon held several positions in software quality assurance positions with Curbside, Upthere, Intuit, Base 2 Applications.  Sargon has a MS degree in Software Engineering from Santa Clara University. In his spare time, Sargon enjoys Flamendo guitar and Spartan training.

Biography

Rachel Silver is the Senior Product Manager for Data Science and Batch Analytics at MapR. Prior to her position at MapR, she has worked in the Big Data field as a Solutions Architect and Applications Engineer. Passionate about the intersection of data and humanity, Rachel is a big supporter of Open Source Software. Currently living in Pittsburgh, PA, she's enjoying the occasional ride in self-driving Ubers.

Tug Grall

 

Biography

Tugdual Grall, an open source advocate and a passionate developer, is Product Manager at MapR.  He currently worsk with the Europeaan developer communities to ease MapR, Hadoop, and NoSQL adoption.  Before joining MapR, Tug was Technical Evangelist at MongoDB and Couchbase.  Tug has also worked as CTO at eXoPlatform and JavaEE product manager, and software engineer at Oracle.  Tug is Co-Founder of the Nantes JUG (Java User Group) that holds since 2008 monthly meeting about Java ecosystem.  Tug's blog:  http://tgrall.github.io/
