MapR Expansion Packs (MEPs):

A way to decouple ecosystem & component upgrades and quickly iterate on new innovation

What is in a “MapR Expansion Pack (MEP)”?

  • A selected set of stable, interoperable, and popular components from the Hadoop Ecosystem that we fully support on the MapR platform
  • Connectors and developer APIs that allow us to provide common Hadoop Ecosystem interfaces to MapR components (ex. Kafka Connect)
  • MapR core upgrades and features that don’t require changes to the platform

How are MEPs delivered?

MEPs are delivered through the installer and via a single repository of projects fully tested to be interoperable. This unique ecosystem delivery vehicle provides the ability to upgrade ecosystem tools without the risk of disruption to your core converged data platform. In addition, MEPs provide frequent opportunities for upgrade and the ability to upgrade at the level you need.

Our goal is to provide a stable but agile solution that provides you with the flexibility you need while minimizing disruption to production environments
