Below are a few ways to get the cluster name from the cluster. This may be needed for DNS or to communicate from another cluster environment or clients.

1. GUI - MCS management console

A simple way to get the cluster name is just to login to MCS and the cluster name is shown on top of the page.
For example:

clustername.png

2. CLI - Maprcli interface

Issue the command below from a cluster node. The first line is the local cluster name and any additional lines are other clusters it knows about.

# maprcli dashboard info -json | grep name
"name":"mycluster.com",

3. File - view file content (mapr-clusters.conf)

Another way to check the cluster name is by viewing the contents of /opt/mapr/conf/mapr-clusters.conf.

# cat /opt/mapr/conf/mapr-clusters.conf
mycluster.com secure=false snode1:7222
