Symptoms:

When destination cluster upgraded from earlier versions to 4.0.2 and  source cluster is fresh installed 4.0.2  cluster,  the following error will be seen on destination cluster when trying to create new mirror.

maprcli volume create -name rwmir -path /rwmir -type mirror -source rwtest1@my.cluster.com\
ERROR (10003) -  Volume create rwmir failed, Invalid argument

Root Cause:

The 4.0.2 fresh installation comes up with "mfs.feature.rwmirror.support" feature enabled by default, where as this feature is disabled in upgraded cluster. Because of this, you can not create mirror on upgraded destination cluster.

Solution:

On upgraded destination 4.0.2 cluster, enable the promotable mirror volume functionality by setting the parameter mfs.feature.rwmirror.support to 1:

maprcli config save -values '{"mfs.feature.rwmirror.support":"1"}'

Once you do this on destination upgraded cluster  , you can create mirror on destination cluster without any issues.

maprcli volume create -name rwmir -type 1 -source "rwtest1@my.cluster.com" -json\
