Issue

According to M3 installation guide for the small cluster, MapR allows to use/start start the NFS on one node. However the nfs logs (/opt/mapr/logs/nfsserver.log) reports the following error message.

2013-02-29 18:48:34 INFO nfsserver[3048] fs/nfsd/nfsha.cc:887 exiting: No license to run NFS server

Environment

- MapR M3

- Applicable to all MapR versions.

Resolution

M3 license allows to run NFS on single node (No High Availability Included). To run MapR's NFS server, register the cluster on MapR.com which grants the license to use NFS on single node.

Follow Managing Licenses Documentation for more details on Registering/Adding Licenses.
