Abstract

There is a growing chatter on Spark replacing Hadoop. When should you use Spark standalone versus using it along with Hadoop? How will this evolve over time? For new use cases, is it simply better to skip Hadoop and jump to Spark? Through the lens of real customer case studies, we will discover the characteristics of a successful Spark deployment and where Hadoop and Spark compete and complement.
