Prepare for MapR 4.x End of Maintenance by January 2017

This is a pre-announcement of 4.x End of Maintenance. MapR announces the end of maintenance for 4.x versions of the MapR Platform, effective January 20, 2017. Customers should upgrade to a more recent release: MapR Converged Data Platform Release 5.1 Resources


Why is MapR ending support for this Version?


MapR will, from time to time, have products that reach the end of their product lifecycle. An End of Maintenance Matrix is published on the MapR Documentation website.


After maintenance has ended, MapR will stop supporting the particular version including maintenance updates, bug fixes, triage of issues and emergency patches. MapR will continue to assist customers with valid contracts in upgrade related activities. This includes all client versions of 4.x on all operating systems including the hadoop ecosystem components running on 4.x clusters.

Definition of Terms


End of Maintenance Date: This is the last date a particular release will be supported. This includes any issue triage, maintenance updates, bug fixes and emergency patch support. Customers with valid license/support contracts can continue to contact MapR Support for upgrade related activities.
